Artist Research: Aaron Robinson

British illustrator Aaron Robinson lives and works in Derbyshire, UK and has numerous client including GQ Magazine, Penguin Classics, Penguin Readers, Faber & Faber, and Chatsworth Communications. He also exhibits his work in various galleries in and around. He classifies his work into a dichotomy of mixed media illustration and contemporary figurative oil painting. He produces his illustration work under the banner Pixel Fingers and is a blend of digital media, mixed media and conceptual work. He recently separated his portraiture and illustration into two separate blogs and upon seeing the kind of work the split is understood. His painting has a realist quality to it with contemporary touches of abstraction with media handling and perspective, while his illustrations are more whimsical and imagery that branches away from reality. I feel you can learn a lot more from his phenomenal paintings personally because of his use of color, material handling and perspective choices among other things.

It's amazing what you turn up googling 'col-erase Derbyshire' (can't get these bad boys for love nor money in the UK).

Thanks for the mention Kenneth!
