Artist Research: David Mack
David Mack is an American comic book artist/illustrator who is most recognized for the success of his original comic book Kabuki, which he wrote and illustrated published first by Image Comics , but now by Marvel's imprint ICON. He graduated from university with a major in Graphic Design and a minor in English. He ha received many prestigious nominations for Eisner awards and Max-und Moritz award for best imported comic in Germany. He has worked as a writer/ author for several Daredevil comic. He has designed CD cover illustrations for musicians like Paul McCartney and his work has been hung in galleries in the LA Museum of art.
He works primarily with watercolor paint and incorporates collage elements in his work . He is known for innovative storytelling which emphasize mood and pacing and page design as well as unexpected color choices. He is currently working on a screen adaptation of Kabuki with 20th century fox.
